Forget about the gimmicks.

A new year has started and the “new year new me” train is in full effect. And with that comes a ton of marketing campaigns for get skinny/healthy quick products and services. Have you see them? Tummy teas, waist trainers, sweat creams, detox programs, etc. I have and I cringe!!!!

Most people think that they have to do something "popular" to get their health journey started when in reality all you have to do is start. Start slow and be consistent. Those are the core keys to changing your health and making lifelong changes.

A "balls to the walls" approach like completely cutting out food groups, eating 1200 or less calories per day, etc. is not the way to go. 95% of the time, when you go with this approach, you revert to the missing food group or activity and eat it even more than before.

According to statista.com, the top 3 resolutions for 2023 are:

  • to exercise more
  • to eat healthier
  • to lose weight

If any of these are your resolutions or goals for the year, remember that "slow and steady wins the race."
